Christmas 2009

Can I be one of Santa's helpers?

Yum! Yum! Can I have Santa's leftovers?

Hey Mom!

Making more chocolate candy

Well, this year we were able to have Christmas minus anyone being in the hospital. My parents were supposed to spend the night on Christmas Eve, but because my dad wasn't feeling well we decided to just let them come over real early Christmas morning. Josh was so much fun this Christmas holiday! We were having fun making candy and decorating cookies for Santa the week of Christmas. We also did a handmade gift for my parents which was a Josh original painting. He had a great time doing that. He was very excited about Santa coming this year, and he was very blessed this Christmas. He received a lot of musical toys including a drum set, guitar, another drum filled with a variety of instruments, puzzles, a scooter, lots of games, a V-tech video game system, truck with lots of matchbox cars, a leapster TAG book system, a Diego rescue truck, a Yo Gabba Gabba dance mat, and puzzles. What a joy this holiday season was! I just have to say I am so blessed to have the family of my dreams!

Josh and Granddaddy Switch Roles

Wednesday my dad had to be taken to the emergency room because he kept losing his balance and just overall not feeling well. Josh has been going to visit him in the hospital and keeps telling everyone that "Granddaddy's sick". Today Daddy had a colonoscopy done and after the procedure Sonny took Josh to see him. He had just come back to the room and was still asleep so the nurse told Josh to take care of him. Sonny said Josh kept walking around the bed and telling everyone," Shh...Granddaddy is sick." Well, Josh climbed into the chair next to the bed and peered over the bedrail to keep an eye on him. Sonny snapped a picture of Josh, and when he sent it to me it reminded me of the photo I took of Daddy looking over at Josh when he was on ECMO. How awesome is that? They truly have a sensational bond. Josh dearly loves his Granddaddy, and I think it's safe to say his Granddaddy loves him bunches, too!

Hugs from my Josh!

Well, it took some time, but we finally convinced Josh to dress up and go trick or treating! Once we got started he had a lot of fun. We went to Grandmomma and Granddaddy's house first. Later we went to Bill and Dana's, then to meet up with Christy, Joey, Ben and Lanie. Overall, Josh had a great time.

Pumpkin Carving Time!

The finished results of our carving!

Josh poses with "his" pumpkin!

Reach inside, Josh!

Look at this!

Let's take the top off and look inside!

Well, after a week of hearing" No!!! I don't want to carve a pumpkin!" from Josh ,we finally convinced him that he did. He decided he wanted a scary pumpkin, and Sonny and I had a cat one. Josh didn't like the "guts" of the pumpkin, but he enjoyed using the spoon to "scoop and stir" the pumpkin. He told us he was cooking.

Family photo op!

Look Mom! I'm a scarecrow!

Honey Hopkins!

Yes, that's right...a puppy! We got her for Josh as well as protection for our home. She is a full blooded boxer puppy that Josh named "Honey". I joked with Sonny and told him we had the Spice Girls fur style (Honey, Coco, and Sugar)! LOL She has been easy to potty train thus far, and Josh just loves her. Today we were out of school, so we took my dad and Josh to the Pumpkin Patch in Hayden. Josh had a blast! I'm going to post the photos with this post, and I will post his trick or treat photos later. He is going to be a frog!
